Built staircases often vary from the spec. Steps are variable heights, walls are not plumb, etc. That’s why railings that come in a mail order kit often do not fit. At McLean Forge & Welding we measure every job to ensure a custom fit and a project that meets your expectations.
Our client had a vision for this gorgeous Pergola that we co-designed and constructed for her. It’s solid as a rock, engineered and flashed into the structure of the house. The end result saves on cooling bills for the house and provides a respite from the unrelenting southern sun exposure.
Metal pergolas can be constructed from different metals like steel or aluminum. Steel pergolas have the advantage of being much stronger than aluminum (important if you live in high-wind areas). When you galvanize the steel and add a powdered coating, it becomes almost impervious to rust and corrosion while making it highly resistant to chipping, scratching, and UV damage.
And because metal can be made to be both thin and durable, metal pergolas can be made to have narrower and sleeker designs that wood just can’t match. Finally, metal can be recycled at the end of its lifespan, which means this pergola won’t end up in a landfill like wooden options often do.
This customer co-designed these custom trellises with our team for maximum strength and style. We powder coated them to match his existing window trim. Simple and elegant.
Unlike other materials, metal can be both thin and durable. As you can see in these custom trellises, metal offers narrower and sleeker designs that wood just can’t match.
